Abstract
The article discusses the relationship between feminism and Women's and Gender Studies (WGS) programs. Particular focus is given to the emotional and political significance of WGS scholars' relationship with the term "feminism" and to debates surrounding some programs' decisions to remove words such as "women" and "gender" from their names.
