Abstract

We examined cognitive load (CL)'s influence on interviewers' likelihood to gender discriminate. Participants completed an online interview simulation under different CLs by assessing two gender different candidates applying for a stereotypically male or female job. While CL did not affect the numeric ratings, participants under high CL hired the stereotypically consistent candidate more often.
