Abstract

In this article the authors share their experiences as both K-12 music teachers and teacher educators to discuss various aspects of music education. Some of these aspects are continuing curricular ubiquity of the elements of music, barriers to change toward an enactment of an alternative pedagogy, implications and alternatives for pedagogy related to music listening.
