Abstract

The microsatellites were isolated from horse genomic DNA using a (GT)10 probe. They had 11-22 copies of a GT-AC dinucleotide repeat. PCR amplification of DNA from 13 reference stallions of diverse breeds from the International Equine Genome Mapping Workshop showed the presence of 2-7 alleles at the microsatellite loci..
