Insects of both agricultural and medical and veterinary importance are included in this review of control of insects by nematodes. Information is collected on entomophilous nematodes that are of potential use for the regulation of insect populations, and recent progress made in investigations designed to make their utilisation as insect control agents more practicable and effective is outlined. The subjects discussed are: types of association between insects and nematodes, natural regulation of insect populations by nematodes, the applied use of nematodes in insect control, and factors to consider when designing a biological control programme..
