Oxytetracycline hydrochloride (2 g) or Lugol's iodine solution (100 ml) were infused into the uterus of 16 cows with chronic puerperal endometritis. Oxytetracycline disappeared from blood plasma by 18 h after infusion. The concentration in milk did not exceed 40 mu g/kg (compared with the maximum permissible concn of 100 mu g/kg) during 34 h, after which it was no longer detectable. Milk from cows treated with iodine contained no inhibitory substances..
