The LD50 value of an injected leaf extract of Pongamia glabra [P. pinnata] was 0.05 ml of 5% leaf extract for adult males of Periplaneta americana. In extract-treated males, the mushroom-shaped accessory reproductive gland exhibited disintegration of the epithelial layer and the lumen consisted of transparent secretory substances with many vacuoles and highly apycnotic nuclei..
