Biography

Professor; Director, Centre for Health and Community Research (CHCR)

Dr. Jürgen Krause is a professor in the McDougall Faculty of Business at the University of Prince Edward Island teaching mostly in the area of management. He joined the Faculty of Business at UPEI in July 2008 and served as the Dean of the Faculty from 2013 until 2019. He earned his Master and PhD degrees from the University of Konstanz, Germany, and performed his postdoctoral studies at the University of Chicago in Illinois, USA. Before moving into education, Dr. Krause held several senior and executive positions in operational and strategic capacities in the Pharmaceutical and Biopharmaceutical industry in both, European and United States companies. He also successfully championed global company initiatives and a number of industry/university collaborations and led alliances with other industry partners.

At UPEI Dr. Krause is also the director of the Centre for Health and Community Research (CHCR) which he founded in 2009. The members and staff of CHCR constitute a collaborative research team specializing in developing and promoting original and innovative research. The centre is dedicated to support and advance service delivery and policy making in topics that are pressing and relevant for healthcare and community needs throughout Prince Edward Island, the Maritimes, and with some projects for all of Canada.
